Tom Sine has worked for many years as a consultant in futures research and planning for both Christian and secular organizations. He founded Mustard Seed Associates to assist churches and Christian organizations to evaluate how the world is changing and how we need to change to me more effective in the future. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Washington.  Tom headed up a development project in Haiti for World Concern, taught at the University of Washington, Seattle Pacific University and at Fuller Seminary in Seattle. Tom also works to help Christian organizations develop a holistic theology of mission and speaks widely at colleges, churches, and missions conferences around the world.

Tom’s most recent book is The New Conspirators: Creating the Future One Mustard Seed At A Time. Other books include Mustard seed vs McWorld: Reinventing Life and Faith for the Future (Baker 1999). Cease Fire: Searching for Sanity in America’s Culture Wars (Eerdmans 1995) and Live It Up! How To Create A Life You Can Love. (Herald Press 1993) Together he and Christine co-authored Living On Purpose: Finding God’s Best for Your Life (Baker 2002).. and they are still talking to each other!.

Tom has the “gift of disorientation” and has had adventures being lost all over the world… when he travels without Christine.  He also has a wonderful gift of hospitality and if you visit Tom and Christine in Seattle you would probably find him in the kitchen experimenting with some Haitian dishes for friends.  Or you could find him ripping through a stack of magazines and newspapers to try and make sense of our changing world to feed the MSA web.
