EXCELLENT!
January 11, 2008

I've been involved in ministry to the poor in the developing world for 20 years, currently working with street kids in East Africa www.retrak.org. I struggle with how the evangelical church (and I'm a leader of one!) views poverty and those affected by it.
What Mike explains sheds much light on Jesus' words in Matthew 25 v44 "They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
45 "He will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
Also, Paul, writing to the Church at Corinth said (2 Corinthians 8:9) "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich".
He is our hombre, our shadow person.
Excellent stuff.
Many thanks
Dave
